Eulogy

John Michael Anderson was born on June 15, 1948, in Anytown, USA. He was the eldest of three children and from an early age showed the kindness, integrity, and strong work ethic that would define his life.

After graduating from Anytown High School, John served in the military before returning home to start a family with his beloved wife, Mary. Together they raised three children - Michael, Sarah, and David - creating a home filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

John worked as a civil engineer for over 40 years, contributing to many important infrastructure projects in our community. His colleagues knew him as a man of principle who always put safety and quality first.

Beyond his professional life, John was an avid gardener, a passionate reader, and could fix just about anything with his skilled hands. He volunteered at the local food bank every Saturday for 15 years, never seeking recognition but simply wanting to help those in need.

John's greatest pride and joy were his seven grandchildren. He never missed a school play, soccer game, or birthday, and his wisdom and gentle guidance shaped each of their lives.

He faced his illness with the same courage and dignity that characterized his entire life, always more concerned about his family's wellbeing than his own. John leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and integrity that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

We will carry his memory in our hearts forever.

Cherished Memories

His laughter could light up an entire room. I'll always remember our Sunday dinners together.

He taught me how to ride a bike and never let go until he was sure I was ready.
- Michael, Son
Every Christmas, he would read 'The Night Before Christmas' to all the grandchildren.
- Emily, Granddaughter
He had a joke for every situation and knew just how to make people feel at ease.

His garden was his sanctuary. He could grow the most beautiful roses I've ever seen.
